Family Matters Part 2

I just noticed that I haven't been posting as often ever since I found out I was pregnant. I think that's because I usually blog while Ellie is either napping or after she's gone to bed for the night. However lately, I'm getting almost as much sleep as she is. I've just been so tired that these days sleep sounds so much more inviting than, well, just about anything. Ha ha! Anyway, tonight I'm forcing myself to get on here and blog. :)

About 6 weeks ago, I posted this post about our week that was filled with family happenings. My sister found out she would be welcoming another girl into their family in November, my brother-in-law got engaged, and we went to Washington to celebrate Caleb's grandma's (Grammy) 90th birthday.

My mother-in-law took some fantastic photos from our weekend in Washington and I've been dying to put them on here. This week I was finally able to "steal" the pictures from her and I had to share them. These aren't all of the pictures that she took, but these are some of my favorites.

This is Elliana with her cousin Abby, and Caleb's cousin's daughter Natalie. I guess that would make Natalie Elliana's 2nd cousin, or is it 1st cousin, once removed? I can never understand how that works. :)

I absolutely LOVE these pictures of Elliana with her Lito (Caleb's dad).

Isn't this adorable?! She picked a flower for him.

These are some new favorites of me with Ellie.

And of course the whole reason we came to Washington, here is the birthday girl with her four daughters:

Here she is with her grand kids and their spouses (I think that expression on her face is so cute):

This coming weekend we have another fun weekend planned filled with more family events. Friday we're going to Jenn's brother-in-law's wedding in Vail. I love weddings and I haven't been to one in a long time so I'm really looking forward to it.

Then Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday we're celebrating lots of family birthdays. Sunday we're going to Josh and Shamree's house to celebrate Shamree's birthday, Monday we will be celebrating my grandma's 90th birthday, and Tuesday we're celebrating Jenn's birthday.

Whew! I'm almost exhausted just thinking about it. ;) It should be a lot of fun though and I'm hoping I'll have some more great pictures to share. I hope you all have a great, Labor Day weekend.

It would be Caleb's 1st cousin once removed, and Ellie's 2nd cousin.

Removed denotes generations. 1st/2nd denotes closeness of relation.

So if two people's parents are 1st cousins, they are 2nd cousins.

But your cousin's daughter would be your first cousin (closeness of cousin) once removed (generation change).

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! I was so blessed when I read that you were expecting. Isn't God awesome?!? I hope your pregnancy is going well. I totally understand the exhaustion thing too. Nap times are a girls best friend. Are you going to find out what you are having? And I could be wrong, but was that Duncan Howard in some of your pictures? If I'm not crazy & it really is, it's a small world!! I have been a guest speaker in his classroom for the last five years. He is the nicest man & always brags about his grandkids :)

I would LOVE to chat with you more in detail! Not sure if you are on facebook, but you can always email me too at greenerrose@comcast.net. I work for Life Choices Pregnancy Center, which is a Christian non-profit ministry. I go in to schools and teach students about the importance of abstinence until marriage, so Duncan always has me come in & speak to his students. He is such a wonderful, Godly man, and I have always enjoyed visiting with him when I come in. You have an amazing father in law!

About Me

My Photo
I am a daughter of the King. Saved by grace. Follower of Christ. I love my God and I believe that he is faithful and true to his word! I'm still figuring out and trying to follow his plan for my life. I am a wife to my best friend Caleb, a mother to my miracle babies (they are my greatest joy and challenge), a sister and best friend to 3 passionate women, and a daughter to 2 amazing parents that continue to teach me what it is to be real and faithful to God and his word. I am lucky to get to be a stay at home Mom (thanks to God's provision). I love music, singing, coffee, cooking, baking, traveling, our beautiful state of Colorado, and mostly being with the family and friends that I love!

Husband, Caleb

Husband, Caleb
Caleb is an amazing husband and father. He is always so good to me. He is my best friend. He is the romantic one. We love to laugh and spend time together. We've been married for 7 years and I just love that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Our 1st Miracle

Our 1st Miracle
Elliana Faith... God blessed us with our first miracle little girl in December 2008. She is sweet, smart, spunky, funny, strong willed, precocious, extremely outgoing, vocal and so full of life! She brings us so much joy.

Our 2nd Miracle

Our 2nd Miracle
Ethan James,.. God blessed us with our little boy in March 2011. Ethan was a bit of a surprise and an even bigger miraclle. Ethan is ALL BOY! He is very active, into sports and running around. He is also sweet, introverted, affectionate, and laid back. These days he often has us laughing, he's starting to show a little bit of "clown" in him. He makes our hearts happy too. :)

Our 3rd Miracle

Our 3rd Miracle
Emsley Jeannette... Our surprise baby girl was born on June 11th, 2013 and came into the world 4 weeks early. Her first 2 weeks of life were spent in the NICU, but due to God's hands and the prayers of many people, she grew quickly and came home to join our family! She is an easy, sweet baby and we are enjoying getting to know her personality.
