Overlooked 2nd Child

Caleb and I are both the 2nd born and we often joke about how tough it is to be a middle child. To be somewhat overlooked. Don't get me wrong, I know why we're overlooked. It's because we're so easy. Ha! Hey, we have to hold on to something, right? ;)

Caleb and I are alike in a lot of ways, and I wonder how much of it has to do with birth order.

We often look at Ethan and see that his personality is a lot more like ours too. I can't be sure if it's birth order or personality, but it's interesting. For example, Ethan's more quiet, laid back and happy to NOT be the center of attention (unlike our first born Elliana). To be honest, so far he is easier in a lot of ways. Probably because he's so much like me. Again, don't get me wrong. In no way does that make him my favorite. I wouldn't change Ellie for the world.

When you're anything other than the first born child, quite often you don't get your own pictures and videos of just you-without any siblings in the picture. My sister Courtney (the youngest sister of my family)has made this complaint loud and clear. She always reminds everyone to get just as many pictures of their 2nd, 3rd, or however many children God gives them.

I think this is great advice and I always have her in my ear when I notice that I'm slacking in this area.

So, as I looked over this blog of mine, I already noticed that I don't have as many videos of Ethan as we had of Elliana. Oops.

The other day Ellie was napping and Ethan woke up early from his nap. He was in a great mood so I decided it was time to take out the camera and capture Ethan at this age. :) He is SO cute and so much fun right now.

We had a great time taking videos and pictures, just the two of us. I simply had to put them on here. I hope you enjoy his unbelievable cuteness as much as I do. :)

Changes

Do you like my new design? I love it! I love the fresh colors and the spring feel to it. I owe another HUGE Thank You to my talented blog designing sister Jenn. Thanks Jenn, you always make my blogging heart happy.

Along with the change of my blog design, I have a few other changes going on in my life.

This first one isn't new to any of you that are friends with me on facebook. If you're not though, then it will be new to you. :)

A couple of weeks ago I decided I was ready for a new haircut. Don't get me wrong, I loved the long hair with mostly blonde highlights, but every once in a while I like to switch it up. So I had 3-4 inches cut off and my hair was dyed chocolate brown with chunky blonde highlights.

I'm diggin' the new 'do!

This next change is a HUGE one for me. WARNING-this is a subject that most men don't like to read or talk about so if you're a man, you might want to stop reading here. Ha!

For any of you that know my history, you know that I have PCOS and I haven't ovulated on my own without the help of hormones or fertility drugs for yeeeeeaaaarrrs. I mean, I can't remember when this last happened (I think in my teens).

Well, I don't know what happened but my body is finally operating the way it should! I've had 3 consecutive, very normal cycles completely on my own. Most women wouldn't welcome their period with such excitement, but I have been very excited to see this change in my body. Especially after so many years.

In case you're wondering, no, we aren't trying for baby #3-yet. But if I continue to ovulate on my own then hopefully baby #3 will be conceived naturally (and maybe even easier). Maybe, maybe not. Yes-Ethan was conceived naturally. However, since I had just been on clomid the month before, and since I'd just miscarried the month before, I always wondered if that month was just a freak, miracle month. Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me how we have another baby (assuming that's in God's plans for us). More than anything, I'm just so happy to see my body finally functioning as it should. Thank you Lord!

About Me

My Photo
I am a daughter of the King. Saved by grace. Follower of Christ. I love my God and I believe that he is faithful and true to his word! I'm still figuring out and trying to follow his plan for my life. I am a wife to my best friend Caleb, a mother to my miracle babies (they are my greatest joy and challenge), a sister and best friend to 3 passionate women, and a daughter to 2 amazing parents that continue to teach me what it is to be real and faithful to God and his word. I am lucky to get to be a stay at home Mom (thanks to God's provision). I love music, singing, coffee, cooking, baking, traveling, our beautiful state of Colorado, and mostly being with the family and friends that I love!

Husband, Caleb

Husband, Caleb
Caleb is an amazing husband and father. He is always so good to me. He is my best friend. He is the romantic one. We love to laugh and spend time together. We've been married for 7 years and I just love that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Our 1st Miracle

Our 1st Miracle
Elliana Faith... God blessed us with our first miracle little girl in December 2008. She is sweet, smart, spunky, funny, strong willed, precocious, extremely outgoing, vocal and so full of life! She brings us so much joy.

Our 2nd Miracle

Our 2nd Miracle
Ethan James,.. God blessed us with our little boy in March 2011. Ethan was a bit of a surprise and an even bigger miraclle. Ethan is ALL BOY! He is very active, into sports and running around. He is also sweet, introverted, affectionate, and laid back. These days he often has us laughing, he's starting to show a little bit of "clown" in him. He makes our hearts happy too. :)

Our 3rd Miracle

Our 3rd Miracle
Emsley Jeannette... Our surprise baby girl was born on June 11th, 2013 and came into the world 4 weeks early. Her first 2 weeks of life were spent in the NICU, but due to God's hands and the prayers of many people, she grew quickly and came home to join our family! She is an easy, sweet baby and we are enjoying getting to know her personality.
