Elliana never fails to make us laugh, and lately she's been doing it a lot! I simply had to share some of the things she's been saying and doing lately.
A week or so ago, Caleb came home from work. Caleb and Ellie have a very sweet relationship, I love to watch them together. Anyway, when Caleb came home from work Ellie greeted him at the door. Caleb said "Ellie, I want a hug." She quickly obliged. Then Caleb asked "Can I have a kiss?" Ellie made a funny face, stepped back and said "No!" Caleb asked "Why?" Ellie answered "'Cause I'm never ever kissing boys." Just as a huge grin grew across Caleb's face, Ellie chimed in with "Only girls!" Umm... not quite the direction we were trying to go with the whole "don't kiss boys" thing. Ha ha!
After a night out together, Caleb and I picked Elliana up from Caleb's parents house. She had been sleeping but woke up once we were all in the car. Usually she just goes back to sleep but this night she didn't. Suddenly we heard Elliana talking to us from her car seat. She tries to talk so "grown up" these days. She said "Okay, okay guys. Here's the deal. Never ever break a promise!" (Ellie's really big on saying never ever break a promise right now because of that line in Tangled. She's practically memorized that movie.) Trying not to laugh I responded with "That's a good deal Ellie."
Ellie has started talking in her sleep. She was napping last Saturday and Caleb and I were near her when out of nowhere she said "...and Hudson!" Hudson is her cousin, and I have no idea what she was dreaming about.
Speaking of cousins, Elliana is really into fake calling just about everyone in our family. She'll pick up a toy phone or anything that resembles a phone and start talking. She even pauses as if someone were on the other line. Lately she's been "calling" her older cousin Devyn a lot. I love it because she's been using nicknames for Devyn that none of us have ever used before. Just this morning she got on her play phone and "called" Devyn. The conversation went something like this: "Hey Dev! Yes! Yes... I'm getting ready for church. Dev, I'm wearing a dress. Okay... bye cuz (short for cousin)!" Where does she get these things?
Sometimes when I'm kissing Ellie good night, she'll run her fingers through my hair and say "Your hair is so long... you need a haircut."
Going back to how Ellie likes to talk "grown up", if she yawns, she'll say "I'm tired. I've had a big day!" Even if her day has just begun. Ha!
And last but not least, one of my favorite sayings from her lately. If she's been in another room and she joins me or Caleb wherever we are, she'll start a conversation with "Soo... what are YOU doing?"
And how can I end this post without a picture? I LOVE this expression on Ellie's face! I think it really captures her personality.
P.S. Here's a picture of Ethan smiling as promised. It's not the best because it was taken with my phone, but you get the idea. :)
P.P.S. Thanks again to my very talented sister Jenn for the new blog design. I LOVE it! I especially love the colors. Jenn never fails to make a beautiful design for me.

Oh my gosh I loved this! I vote you post every day with these stories and pictures, I feel like I'm missing out on so much with her! Can we have a sleepover with her soon?
Those stories are so adorable! She has quite the personality!
Kenley LOVES Tangled and quotes it all the time. When I tell her I love her she kisses my head and tells me she loves me most, then tells me never to ask to leave the tower again. Mike and I also look back fondly on the days when we were Mommy and Daddy because now we are always either Beast or Eugene! Maybe we should have a Tangled viewing party with the girls!
I love the Ellie stories and I love that girl's spunk! SO cute and what an adorable personality!!!
I LOVE the Ellie stories and quotes!! She just cracks me up! Some of the things that come out of her mouth, you just start wondering, "Where does she learn this??!!" The picture of her is a PERFECT one of her personality!! Thanks for sharing.
Love, Mom
